ArtShortCut is producing three great World Design Capital Projects during 2012. These range from our contemporary art project Helsinki Underground by Tuomas Aleksander Laitinen, which is an exploration of Helsinki from beneath its surface for its people, to Nordic Masters that brings some great Nordic talent to be exhibited in Helsinki alongside the MoA exhibition. Our third project is about design thinking and the creative processes. Smart Process, Smart design will delve into the depths of the creative minds power in business dealings. It asks: can design save the world? Focus is in design thinking developed in the Nordics!
Projects named above are a part of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 programme. The year offers experiences and encounters with design both at home and internationally. Our aim is to generate ideas for ways of developing our living environment through design, as well as to create opportunities for new business and innovations. This way, we can together make our city a better place to live.
